Many of you may remember meeting Katelyn Sheehan at the district conference this year. She was the youth exchange student with the beautiful singing voice. Katelyn is currently in Poland, and recently sent the club a letter with pictures. Below is her letter and the pics of her adventures.
Hello everyone,

sorry it took me so long to write i have just been so busy and i wanted to wait until i could send photos. my flight went well except for how painfully awake i was for the whole ordeal. i live now in a beautiful home with my 2 parent helinka,a stay at home mom, and gshegosh (phonetically) an owner of a construction company. they have a tweenty year old daughter ania who, after this year of school, will be a certified english teacher. however both of my parents know practically nothing in enlglish. thursday september first i went to high school 10 where i will be attending school. at one point we were introduced during a welcoming speech to the school. none of the 6 exchange students realizing it we wondered why everyone was suddenly looking at us. we were then told to stand. after our introductory day we started going to british school to learn polish for 5 hours a day. i will be there for about 2 more weeks then i will start school in polish. i have been picking up on the language, though the grammar is something else. so far i have joined a choir that will be, in the winter, touring a few countries in europe. this weekend we have a concert in some big city and i have a 40 second window of an imprauve(?) solo that is really difficult and a duet of the national anthem with another exchange student. i have also taken part in some awesome volunteer work. i was able to work with polish orphans while they went on a field trip to an amazing interactive museum. i have contacted the orphanage officials about being able to volunteer at the orphanage itself on a weekly basis. i might have to wait until i have a better grasp of the polish language though. i have been having a blast. thank to everyone who has made this possible.

in the following photos you will see:
